Lars Lerin is awarded this year’s cultural scholarship in memory of Gustaf Fröding.
The motivation is:
Lars Lerin is awarded the scholarship because he is not only considered one of the Nordic region’s foremost watercolor painters but also because he is a very talented author with his own style. In his books, art and life meet and merge into a whole that makes people stop and reflect on life’s big questions. He is awarded the scholarship as support and encouragement for continued cultural work. “
Lars Lerin has published over 50 books, and his latest book Elsa in Skräddartorp has been praised hugely by both readers and critics. He has his own museum, Sandgrund, in Sweden, dedicated to his art and his exhibitions are shown world wide.
Lars Lerin has previously been awarded the August Prize, the royal medal Litteris et Artibus, several Crystal Awards for his TV-series and many more awards.
