It’s autumn, the detectives Nick Johansson and Klara Pil and their colleagues at the Stockholm Police become involved in a case that begins with a teenage boy being reported missing. Shortly afterwards, a teenage girl also disappears. The investigation stalls for a long time as the police have difficulty finding any common ground between the two young people. But once things start to fall into place, everything takes a very unpleasant and unexpected turn. Nick and Klara have just started to recover from the bombshell that exploded during the summer when Chief Prosecutor Torsten Lilja, with whom they have often collaborated in various criminal investigations and who also recently married a good friend of theirs, was revealed to be a pedophile. Now they are forced to do everything they can to find out what happened to the young people. It becomes a tough race against time when they realize who they are dealing with.
